DevOps is a transformative approach that integrates software development and IT operations, focusing on automation, continuous integration and delivery. Learning DevOps basics is crucial as it enables faster development cycles, reduces deployment failures and promotes a culture of collaboration among teams. To familiarise students with the integration of DevOps in the IT sector, the IT Club Aavishkar hosted an engaging workshop on “DevOps Basics” held by Mr Pavan Reddy from the Magic Bus Foundation on 17th April, 2026.
Mr Reddy explained how extensively DevOps is used in organisations for rapid software releases and reliable infrastructure management, such as technology firms, startups and large enterprises. He also illustrated how the advantages of DevOps in the workplace by leveraging tools like Ansible, Puppet, Docker and Jenkins, where DevOps teams can automate repetitive tasks, monitor applications and ensure smooth software rollouts. The advantages of DevOps in the workplace include enhanced productivity, quicker feedback loops, and reduced downtime, which fosters a proactive environment where developers and operations teams work together seamlessly, leading to better software quality and customer experience.
Mastering DevOps concepts improved the chances of securing placements in reputed companies to the students as they become capable of managing end-to-end software delivery pipelines. Around 120 MCA students participated in the workshop and gained in-depth overview of DevOps principles, practical demonstrations of popular DevOps tools and real-world use cases.
