National Energy Conservation Day, celebrated annually on December 14, emphasises on the importance of energy efficiency and sustainability in addressing the global challenges in energy sector. As part of this initiative, Aurora’s PG College, Ramanthapur organized a debate on December 16, 2024, titled “Is Nuclear Energy a Viable Solution to Our Energy Needs?"
The event was inaugurated by Dr. M. Madhavi, Director of the institution, who emphasized on the importance of energy efficiency in securing a sustainable future and urged the students to adopt energy-conscious practices in their daily lives. She encouraged them to be ambassadors of change, spreading awareness about the significance of conserving energy for the well- being of the planet and extending a sustainable environment to the future generations.
The debate drew enthusiastic participation from students, who presented diverse perspectives on modern energy systems.
