Student Discipline Committee

Creation of the Committee

Students of the institution are expected to observe the rules and regulations, show courtesy and consideration at all times and to respect persons, property The Student Discipline Committee is formed for the maintenance of discipline in the institution. The committee will make sure that students obey rules and remain orderly and peaceful in pursuant of educational objectives in the institution. If students are found guilty of misconduct, the disciplinary committee has the right to impose sanctions ranging from probation to suspension or expulsion.


Objectives

  • To advise on policies and procedures relating to student discipline
  • To have an optimistic approach in imparting discipline among students.
  • To frame rules and regulations to maintain discipline in the college premises.
  • To encourage good and healthy disciplinary practices.
  • To help students develop self-discipline.
  • Initiate actions against students involved in indisciplinary activities.

Selection procedures

The faculty gives their choice for acting as coordinators in the Student Discipline Committee. Based on the choice given by the faculty and students, the College Academic Committee and in consultation with Heads of the Departments select the coordinators.


Tenure

The tenure of the selected coordinator and members is for one academic year.


Coordinators

The Student Discipline Committee is reconstituted for every year. For the academic year 2018-19, following members are appointed:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of student discipline guidelines.
  • Dissemination of information on disciplinary rules and regulations to the students on regular basis
  • Monitoring of student dress code and general discipline.
  • Preparation of reports on indiscipline.
  • Implementation of disciplinary actions.
  • Redressal of discipline related grievances
  • Submission of monthly report
