Anti-Drug Awareness Program

Drugs and Narcotic substances were creeping into the society and making the youth and children addicted which consequentially making the families and society vulnerable. There is an imperative need to address this evil by creating awareness and discouraging the use of these prohibited substances. The Social Service Club in association with Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau(TSANB) and Uppal Police Station on 19th December, 2024. This initiative aims to promote a drug-free environment to the students of MBA and MCA, by educating them about the dangers of drug abuse and to foster a culture of awareness and prevention within the college community and society at large.

The program began with an inaugural speech by Dr. Madhavi, Director of the institution, who highlighted the increasing prevalence of drug abuse among youth and emphasized the importance of awareness and education in combating this pressing issue, urging students to take an active role in promoting a drug-free lifestyle.Mr. B. Ramesh, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ram Prasad, the Inspector of Police from Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau, Mr. Election Reddy, the Sub-inspector of Police, Uppal jurisdiction spoke on the consequences of drug abuse, negative effects of narcotics and psychotropic substances on physical and mental health and the legal consequences of drug-related offenses in the current scenario. The panel addressed the common misconceptions about drug use and provided practical advice on how to resist peer pressure and make informed choices. Students were encouraged to become ambassadors of change by spreading awareness and to be vigilant in recognizing the signs of drug abuse among friends and classmates.

The event concluded with a commitment from students by taking pledge to remain drug-free and to advocate awareness within their community. The Deputy Superintendent of Police and the law enforcement officials from the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau appreciated and expressed gratitude to the college administration in hosting the event and reiterated their dedication to work with educational institutions to prevent drug abuse. The Anti-Drug Awareness Program was a significant step towards empowering students with knowledge and resources to combat drug-related challenges and to promote a healthier, drug-free environment.
