Together, they ensure the seamless functioning of digital systems, safeguard sensitive data, and address emerging challenges in an increasingly interconnected world. In this context, a workshop was organized on "AI and Cyber Security" for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) students on December 20, 2024.
The event commenced with an address by Dr. Madhavi, Director, who emphasized on the growing importance of AI and Cyber Security in today’s technology-driven world. She encouraged students to actively engage with such initiatives to develop practical skills and stay ahead in the competitive tech-landscape. She also highlighted on the need for interdisciplinary knowledge to tackle emerging challenges in AI and Cyber Security, inspiring students to explore these domains with curiosity and determination.
The session was conducted by Ms. Lakshmi Vejandla from Pantech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., an expert with extensive hands-on experience in image processing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The workshop commenced with an introduction to AI and its subsets, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning, and Neural Networks. Through the hands-on demonstrations and real-time examples, students explored the fascinating integration of AI into modern technology. A standout highlight was the generation of images from text inputs, illustrating AI's creative potential and versatility.
The session included demonstration on face detection technology, showcasing how AI can analyze facial expressions and convert them into emojis, exemplifying its application in personalization and human-computer interaction. Real-world scenarios, such as securing devices through mobile apps and safeguarding personal data, were discussed, highlighting AI's relevance in daily life. The workshop inspired students to explore AI's transformative role in enhancing technology and cyber security by embedding theoretical concepts with practical applications.
