The power of writing lies in its ability to convey ideology, inspire reflection and imbibe values that guide individuals through the challenges of life. Understanding this significance, the Literary Club Adhyayan, in partnership with the Shivaji Youth Association of Ramanthapur, organised a competition on the history of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 07th February 2026. This program aimed at empowering school students of Ramanthapur by encouraging them to explore historical themes and express their insights through thoughtful writing.
The competition witnessed participation from esteemed schools including Divya Jyothi School, Kakatiya School, Vaishnavi School, Vidyaranya High School, and Mother's Integral School comprising 200 students. The event was graced by the presence of prominent personalities such as the Malkajgiri Division In-charge, along with presidents and general secretaries representing various Ramanthapur colonies.
Writing with ideology is an essential educational practice that helps students move beyond rote memorisation to a deeper understanding of historical figures like Shivaji Maharaj. Through this competition, students were encouraged to analyse Shivaji's life, leadership and values, thereby gaining insights into qualities like bravery, justice and dedication. This reflective process enhances their knowledge of history and also inspires them to integrate these virtues into their own lives.
The competition provided a platform for students to develop critical thinking and articulate their perspectives with clarity and conviction. Engaging with history through writing also nurtures a sense of identity and pride, linking the past with the present. Bringing together schools and community leaders at the campus created an enriching environment for young learners to grow intellectually and morally. The Participants and winners were awarded certificates and prizes.
