Industry Institute Interactions Cell
Creation of Cell:
The Industry Institute Interaction Cell was established at our institute in 2005 under the Industry Institute Interaction Scheme of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. Over the years, considerable progress has been made and the academic departments have been carrying out various activities envisaged under the III independently and with support from the III Cell, as deemed necessary. The purpose of the cell is to find out the gap between need of the industry and end product of the institute. The cell is the bridge between the industry, the real world and the institute. Industrial exposure of Faculty is very much helpful to guide students about latest industrial practices. Industries are able to know recent developments and inventions in their fields and implement projects for technologically driven economy.
The Objectives of Industry Institute Interaction Cell:
- To cultivate the strong links with industry
- To promote various industrial activities by the faculty members and students
- To catalyze the further growth and development of interaction between the Institute and Industry
- To have a closer linkage and promote research suited to industry needs, and consultancy which creates a sense of owning among faculty members
- To provide continuing education to people working in industries so that they can upgrade their technical knowledge, and / or obtain higher degrees; this orients the faculty members towards the industry from the portals of College i.e. Academics.
- To evolve educational programmes which are consistent with the broad requirements of the industry and which can give rise to managerial personnel capable of coping-up with the accelerating pace of the technological development.
- To coordinate the research and developmental activities of the two systems
Constitution of the III Cell:

The Functions of Industry-Institute Interaction Cell include
- To give industrial exposure to Faculty members and students, thus enabling them to tune their knowledge to cope with the industrial culture
- To assist the Departments in organizing workshops, conferences and symposia with joint participation of the industries
- To encouraging Managers from industries to visit institution to deliver lectures
- Participation of experts from industries, in curriculum development
- To organize industrial visits for Faculty members and students
- To encourage Faculty members to use their expertise in solving the problems faced by the industries, thus creating opportunity for consultancy
- To organize in-plant training for the students
- To identify the areas for executive development programmes in the areas of recent technological advances
- To assist the Departments in establishing rapport with industries for taking up mini projects and projects
- To coordinate/ identify industrial partners for proposing ‘Centre for Excellence’.
- To strengthen Alumni relations
- To assist the Training and Placement Division
- Memorandum of Understanding between the institute and industries to bring the two sides emotionally and strategically closer
- Visiting faculty from industries
Responsibilities:
IIIC will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Increase in collaboration with industry.
- Increased rate of campus placement of students.
- Absorption of students by same industries providing internship.
- Increase in industrial training for students arranged by college.
- Increase in utilization of college resources by industry.
- Visiting faculty/professors from industries.
