Professional Activities Committee

Creation of the Committee

The goal of this committee is to cultivate an extensive opportunities across a broad spectrum of professional activities and skills, for the students. The committee’s aim is to provide opportunities to supplement discipline-specific training by providing access to more generalized professional development in a variety of areas, such as teaching and learning, library resources and computer skills.


Objectives

  • Disseminate information about existing training and mentorship opportunities at the college that are focused on professional development of the students.
  • Identify successful training and professional development practices that can be adopted at the institution level for the academic and overall personality development of the students
  • Recommend implementation strategies for ensuring support of professional development opportunities

Selection procedures

The faculty and students gives their choice for acting as coordinators in the Professional Activities Committee. Based on the choice given by the faculty and students, the College Academic Committee in consultation with Heads of the Departments selects the coordinators.


Tenure

The tenure of the selected coordinator and members is for one academic year.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identification of professional activities to be conducted in each semester.
  • Preparation of schedule of activities in consultation with HOD’s.
  • Encouraging students to participate in various events.
  • Monitoring of club activities in the college.
  • Preparation of reports on professional activities, guest lectures, events and other activities.
  • Identify potential obstacles to implementation of successful practices and recommendations for overcoming such challenges.
  • Maintaining reports on student participation at various events.
